ACTIVITY OF SENSES

Good afternoon! 

Today at class we have enjoyed a funny activity about the five senses. Do you want know what about is? Come on! Read this post, I'm sure you will like! 

  

Following the daily routines we have started to work. After two days introducing the five senses, today at last we have could done the final activity. 

First of all, I have explained the activity to the four-year students. We have used different games, one for each sense. 

So now I am going to explain how we have worked the five senses: 

HEARING: The activity has consisted in dancing around the psychomotricity class while the music sounded. When the music stopped, children had to sit still like mummies during some seconds. We repeated this game in various fragments of songs.  In this way, the students have practiced: the attention, the hearing perception and generally, the listening. 

SIGHT: This was an activity with a little challenge because one student of each pair had to guide to his/her blind classmate by a path of obstacles at the playground. Later the roles changed and finally the learners told her / his experience to the whole class. 

SMELL: Every pupil had to smell three kind of liquids with her / his eyes blindfolded and say if that smell was pleasant or unpleasant. Then between all the students had to guess what kind of liquids were. 

TASTE: Every student had to taste different foods with a various textures and say if they were bitter or sweet.  

TOUCH: All the students had to touch some items and guess what kind of object was.

INVITATION TO A PARTY

The material we need for processing are: balloons (red and green in this case), cardboard, thin and thick black marker colour red, scissors, pencil, sticky tape and a punch.

MY FAVOURITE CHILD TALE

Hello! This is my favourite tale when I was a child and the reasons why I loved it.

Cinderella's tale treats about a young and pretty girl who only had her father because her mother died. From that day she lived in her stepmother and stepsisters' house where she worked much. Every day she did several assignments in housework. Cinderella never went out of the house because it was forbidden for her. So she thought some different activities for have fun at home when she finished her chores. One of them was playing with house animals. That animals loved her because she look after them, sang to its while she was cleaning and many more activities.

She was a very happy girl until one day all the ladies of the city were invited to the dance of the royal palace of Prince and her stepmother forbidden her to go. But the day of the dance, suddenly a fairy good mother appeared and helps her to go to the royal party. Finally she could go but she only had a condition: return at home before midnight. She didn't realise that the twelve came and the spell disappeared. Fastly she went out the dance and during this way she lost her crystal shoe. Days after the king's son wanted to know who was the propietary of that shoe and sent some guys to find that girl. Luckily later a few days they found the lady and surprinsingly was Cindirella. The tale end is like the other fairy tales: Cinderella and the Prince went together and lived happily ever after.

I loved this tale for two reasons mainly: firstly because it presents to us a young girl who can value spend a good time with her passion: the animals. Nowadays it is very difficult for the society enjoy those small moments because we think that is a waste of time.

Secondly she shows us a girl who conforms to her complicated day to day with a mother who doesn't love her and with the difficulty of has two unkind stepsisters. She shows us the value and courage that she must to have to deal her life.

What is Dream English?

The goal of Dream English is simple: make educational music that is not only filled with important phrases and grammar, but is also enjoyable to listen to. My hope is that people will listen to the music not only because it is educational, but also because they truly enjoy the music!

Why do you have most of your songs and chants available for free download? 

I started this site out to sell my music. However, I put up a few free downloads and had a great response from people. After putting up my version of Jingle Bells, I got thank you notes from people in over 30 countries! This encouraged me to put a few more downloads, then I received more and more thank you notes. Many people said they aren’t able to buy a CD for a number of reasons, and my music is very helpful to them, their students and children. This encouraged me to put even more free downloads.

If your songs are available for free download, why do you also sell them? 

The songs for sale are a bit higher quality mp3’s and don’t have the web add as heard on the free downloads. The sales of these CD’s and download packs help me to pay for this website, so I can continue to bring you great music! If you use these songs often with your students, I encourage you to buy a CD or download pack. It will not only help me, but the thousands of people who benefit from me being able to give away the songs for free.

How do I download a free song?

It is really easy! Go to the Free Download page, pick a song title you want to check out and go to that web page. Once you are there, it will have a link to download the song, simply click on it and the song will download. If you are a pc user, you will need to right click on your mouse to download and save. In order to burn it to a cd for class or home use, you have to bring the song into an mp3 player. If you don't have one, I recommend I Tunes because it is a free download.

How do you write your songs? 

Each Dream English song can take up to a few months to write and record. I start with an idea, then I record a demo version or play it on my guitar in my classes with the students. I do this until I get the song just right for learning, and then I record it for everyone to hear!

What does the future hold for Dream English:

My Dream is to be able to perform concerts of my music to children around the world. I look forward to seeing all of your smiling faces and singing along with you!
